This is a project Straight Up Construction completed at the end of 2007. The house was extensively renovated. The results speak for themselves. The owners wanted to keep the character of the home, but stay within, their strong views on sustainability and environmentally friendly building practices.

The chimney is constructed from a wood based stone product called timbercrete, note the round window!

We are currently working on 179 Tamamutu Street Taupo . This is a new Dental Studio with appartment above it. Progress is going well the exterior cladding is atarting to go on.
A chilly start today for the boys -2 Degrees.
Jarrad has just joined the team to and Aaron is back after a day at home with his wife after an icy experience

Paul and Kim Riedel of Straight Up Construction.
have been in business in Taupo for ten years and in
that time produced four incredibly wonderful children
and a wide range of building projects.

Apart from the children, Paul says his next biggest
achievement was that a house they built was awarded 'First
Place' in the New Zealand National Architectural

Paul has completed his Carpentry Apprentiship, including Advance Trade Certificate. Paul went on to complete a NZ
Certificate in Architechtual Draughting. This gives him a great insight into the architechtual finish of the building,
not just the carpentry. When spending $400 to $500,000 on
